Welcome to Shore

As one of Australia’s leading comprehensive schools, it is our privilege to welcome students from all over the world.

We offer a holistic education that is guided by our Christian faith and principles. We see our role as one of nurturing the head, heart and soul of every child entrusted to our care.

As we’re not a selective school we accept students from a wide range of academic abilities. However, our focus on principled behaviour and the development of character, combined with the highest standards of teaching and pastoral care, creates an environment that inspires the boys to develop a love of learning.

This is clearly reflected in our outstanding academic and HSC results which stand as a testament to the realisation of each child’s full potential.

During Term time, all of our international students live in one of four Boarding Houses on our North Sydney Campus.

You can find out more about these homes away from home on our Boarding at Shore page.

Our application process

Six documents are required for you to lodge an application to enrol your child at Shore.

They are:

  1. A completed Application for Enrolment form which you can access here.
  2. A copy of the student’s birth certificate.
  3. A copy of the information page of the student’s passport.
  4. A copy of the student’s most recent school report.
  5. An educational history that details all schools attended, from their first year until now.
  6. A certificate of English fluency from the Australian Educational Assessment Service.

We ask that all documentation be translated into English where necessary.

Your application will be reviewed by our Enrolments Team, and once all criteria have been met, we’ll arrange for you and your child to meet with our Director of Boarding and one of our Deputy Heads of the School. This interview will determine whether a place is available and if the School is suitable for your son.

Once an offer is made, we’ll require you to sign a Letter of Agreement and pay the Enrolment and Confirmation Fees. We can then issue an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment that will enable you obtain your son’s student visa. This will be sent by email with a printed copy mailed to your home address.

It’s important to note that you will need to obtain Overseas Student Health Insurance Cover before you apply for the Student Visa.

Fees

We will require you to pay one Semester’s fees in advance of your child starting at the School. Our School Business Office will send you both an invoice and a Schedule of Fees for the year ahead.

Students for whom English is not their first language will need to provide a Certificate of English Fluency from the AEAS (Australian Education Assessment Service).

To ensure your child meets the necessary proficiency in English to participate fully in class and in all School activities, we require a minimum result of Stanine 7 to 9 in all areas assessed. The AEAS certificate must be lodged with your Application for Enrolment.
